Jaunt has been selected as a Finalist in the 2025 Victorian Premier’s Design Awards for our Re-Engineered Electric Land Rover Platform.
The Premier’s Design Awards recognise outstanding design and innovation across Victoria, highlighting work that delivers real impact. For us, this recognition reflects several years of engineering, testing and refinement to modernise an iconic vehicle while preserving what makes it special.
Re-Engineering the Classic Land Rover
Our Re-Engineered Electric Land Rover Platform brings contemporary EV performance and safety to Land Rovers built between 1958 and 1985, while maintaining their distinctive character and capability. The award entry highlights:
- A complete EV powertrain and modular battery system designed and engineered in Victoria
- Improved reliability, drivability and efficiency without altering the Land Rover’s defining identity
- A platform approach that enables consistent production, repeatable quality and road-legal certification
- A focus on long-term sustainability by repairing and re-using classic vehicles instead of replacing them
This platform marks a key shift for Jaunt—from individual conversions to a scalable, engineered system that supports future manufacturing, serviceability and ongoing upgrades.
What This Means for Jaunt
Being recognised alongside leading Victorian design projects reinforces the importance of applying strong engineering fundamentals and thoughtful design to vehicle electrification. It also supports our broader aim: bringing classic vehicles into modern use with greater capability, safety and everyday ease.
We’d like to acknowledge our team, our engineering partners and the customers who have supported the platform’s development. Their input and trust have shaped the work as much as the technical effort behind it.
